How Do I Take Good Care of My Dental Crown?

Posted .

Once you have finally placed your new dental crown, it’s time to start taking care of it. Just like your natural teeth, it is extremely important to care for your crown by doing the following things:

· Brush: Make sure you brush your smile at least two times a day. You are more than welcome to brush more often if you feel it’s necessary, but as long as you brush every morning and every night, you are on the right track.

· Floss: Flossing is a vital technique that cannot be forgotten. Do your best to floss at least once a day so your crown will be protected from the harmful particles that your toothbrush couldn’t reach.

· Rinse: Rinsing your mouth with mouthwash is a task that many people don’t realize is important. However, it is very important because it can complete the smile-cleaning job and it can eliminate harmful plaque and bacteria that grow in your mouth. So, make sure you rinse with a beneficial wash at least once a day.

· Visit your dentist: It is vital that you visit your dentist every six months for a dental cleaning and exam. These appointments will help your dentist check on the dental crown and make any necessary changes. It will also allow our dental team to properly clean your smile to prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and other dental problems.

If you do these four things as recommended, you will have a strong and functional dental crown for years to come. We want you to have the best dental experience possible, which is why we recommend doing everything you can to keep your crown and smile in tip-top shape.
